Shattukite is a rare secondary (sedimentary) copper silicate. It forms blue spherulitic (sphere-shaped) aggregates, often in association with other copper silicates such as dioptase, and demonstrates strong pleochroism (colour change depending on the angle from which it is observed) from pale to dark blue.
