Indochinite – Black Tektite Tumble Stone

£2.00

Indochinite or Black Tektite Tumble Stone (sometimes called “black moldavite”.

Tektite is a glassy material (technically, not a mineral, as there is no geological process), formed as a result of massive meteorite impact with the Earth.

Mineralogy: Indochinite originates in the former French colonies of Indochina (Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia), as well as Thailand and southern China. Chemical analysis shows that it contains a number of included chemical elements, the largest percentage being iron (over 40% in some pieces) and aluminium. It is believed to be the result of the impact of a diffuse extra-terrestrial object, such as a comet, rather than a direct impact from a meteorite. This may explain why there is no known impact crater, why it has a large strewnfield, and why, unlike other tektites, the material’s chemical analysis results vary from the centre of the field to its outer edges.

Healing Properties: Indochinite is a moldavite for the present time. It has the transformational qualities of other tektites, but while moldavite sends the user on a journey away from the self, indochinite creates a connection with the Earth as well as the stars, grounding the energy, and making it easier to apply new insights to ourselves and the planet. While it still shakes you up, it’s with less of a jolt than other tektites. This is probably because of its iron content, combined with the diffuse nature of the impact. Like all tektites, it is ungrounding, but its energy is less ethereal and far easier to work with than moldavite. It is also more business-like than irghizite (another black tektite), and not endowed with its softness of character. Tonally, it works with the Sacral, Root and Earth Chakras, and may clear unwanted energy from that area, while also affecting the entire body and chakra system.
