Desert Rose
A rose-like group of crystals formed by precipitation in arid desert regions, and containing trapped sand particles. Gypsum is the most common host mineral, but desert rose can also form from baryte, celestite and other minerals. The featured specimens are gypsum, from Mexico. The tiny 1 cm size is a good addition to children's collections, and the larger size is good value.
