Kyanite

From the Greek Kyan (Cyan) for 'blue'. Ironically, it has bee discovered in a number of other colours in recent years.

Properties (for blue kyanite): Kyanite opens the Throat Chakra, as well as the Bindu Visarga*. The energy is cool and not forced, and encourages calm, rational thought. It facilitates meditation, and aids a quick transition between states of consciousness. It is an attunement stone, and useful in contacting one’s spirit guides, angels or higher power. Physically, it can be useful in alleviating pain due to fibromialgia or other muscle injuries or diseases, and is particularly helpful in treating ligament and tendon damage, and reducing swelling. Blades of kyanite are sometimes used to comb through the body's energy field to cleanse the aura.
