Jet

Jet

Fossilised monkey puzzle tree, related to coal.

Galen (Claudius Galenus, 130 – 200 AD), a Roman physician, medical researcher and philosopher, recommended jet in the treatment of some gynaecological issues, and jet amulets are frequently found in Roman burials.

Since the 19th century, as a result of Victorian mourning rituals, jet has been associated bereavement and grief. It is gently grounding, and helps in letting go of unhealthy thoughts or behaviour patterns, including addiction.
