The original modern tarot deck, designed by Arthur E Waitewith paintings by Pamela Coleman Smith, first printed in 1910. All other tarots are based on this deck, and it is a good starting point to understand the symbolism and meaning of each card.
The original drawings of Pamela Coleman Smith, painted for the Original Rider Waite Deck, recoloured by Mary Hanson-Roberts. The colours are much more vibrant, and the deck has a friendlier feel than the original.
