Points and Clusters

In most forms of crystal healing, practitioners attune themselves to one special crystal, and use this like a wand, to direct energy throughout the healing. The quartz point effectively becomes an extension of the healer. Lemurian, Diamontina, Silver Quartz and Tibetan Quartz are particularly well suited for use as Control Crystals. Laser crystals with extremely sloping sides and a tiny point are not, as the energy is too narrow and strong (like a laser). The attunement process should initially be supervised by a teacher.The length of the crystal should be longer than the palm of your hand, usually a minimum of 10 cm, and not too wide, so it is comfortable to hold. Crystals of this size and shape were once plentiful, but are now becoming more and more difficult to come across. You should select a Control Crystal in person, but if you are having difficulty finding one, this section presents a selection of appropriate points.

A double-terminated crystal is a single quartz crystal that comes to a termination, or point, at each end. Energy is able to flow both directions, making it useful in creating an energy flow where there is a blockage, forming a bridge between two other crystals, or creating a psychic connection with another person. This can be achieved by each person holding a double terminated crystal to their Third Eye while working with each other.

In most quartz crystals the sides are parallel to one another. In a laser crystal they slope inwards towards the termination, usually display horizontal striations all the way up, and tiny terminations. Laser crystals focus a fine beam of energy, and can be used in bond cutting, and removing unwanted entities or attachments. They are also used in psychic surgery.

Also known as Lemurian Seed Crystals; a type of laser quartz crystal mined in the Diamantina region of Brazil. They sometimes display a pink caste due to a coating of hematite or other iron-containing mineral. They are believed to hold the wisdom of ancient Lemuria.

Most of our smoky clusters come from China. The quartz isn't of the best quality, but they are of particular interest, as many of them either occur with orthoclase, or are coated with garnets.

Originating from the Diamontina Mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil. this exquisite quartz is fantastically clear, with virtually no inclusions or faults, and refracts light into beautiful rainbows, almost like lead crystal (glass). Most examples are relatively small, averaging around 5 cm, and the smaller they are, the clearer they are. As well as being powerful tools for healing and meditation, they are also collector's pieces.

Use silver quartz in meditation, especially if you wish to connect with your Higher Self, your Guides, or the higher realms, and can help to balance our energy with the new frequencies coming in. It creates a wonderful meditation circle, and a powerful grid around clients in crystal healing, as well as healing damage in the etheric field (subtle body).

It appears to be self-cleansing, although we recommend you cleanse it anyway.

Tibetan Quartz is of stunning clarity and usually contains black inclusions which are most likely carbon. The crystals often exhibit rainbows and are frequently double-terminated. It is purported to contain the wisdom and esoteric knowledge of ancient Tibet. In addition to the qualities of normal clear quartz, Tibetan Quartz has a powerful, focused and detached linear energy, making it excellent for use as a control crystal or wand. However, it is recommended that you have experience with crystal healing before using them in this way, because of the strength of the crystals. Oddly, in spite of this, the energy is feminine, and although there is a Buddha connection, there is also a connection with the Trinity. The double terminated variety seems to distribute energy at the Crown and the Root (Base) Chakras, without touching the Chakras in between.
