Rebel Angel started life as an online shop in London, more than seven years ago. Six years ago we relocated to Avoncliff in West Wiltshire, opened a (real) shop in what was once the village bath house, and let the online shop go for a while. We are pleased to now be offering both ways to shop.
ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT
We are dedicated to preserving our environment and ensuring healthy working conditions, both at home and abroad. As far as possible we use FSC paper and packing materials that safely break down, as well as recycling the packing materials we receive in shipments. This means you will sometimes receive parcels with mixed packing materials. We have never used plastic bags in our shop.
Crafts are often locally produced, and most that come from abroad are purchased through Fair Trade suppliers. In some cases, these suppliers go as far as setting up cottage industries in third world countries to produce their goods.
Thankfully, the management of mining is more regulated these days, but it is difficult to check. As far as possible, our mineral suppliers try to ensure that mining is done saftely and fairly, and with minimal damage to the environment.
